Chuck Pratt is an independent consultant, trainer, personal coach and a former member of the U. S. Coast Guard where he was a successful organizational leader for 23 years. A 1979 graduate of the Coast Guard Academy, he has a B.S. in Management and an M.S. in Instructional Technology from Utah State University. Coast Guard career highlights include command of two ships; Chief of Professional Development at the Coast Guard Academy where he directed leadership training for cadets; and adjunct instructor for both the Coast Guard’s Leadership Development Center and the Academy’s Leadership and Management Department. Chuck works on the people side of organizations, particularly in teambuilding, leadership development, coaching, interpersonal skills training, conflict management, emotional intelligence, appreciative inquiry, group facilitation and dialogue. He has consulted with organizations for more than 16 years, and taught interpersonal skills and leadership training to over 8000 learners. He has worked with such diverse groups as adult learners, business, government and non-profits, intact work teams, college students, public school teachers, parents, and at-risk high school students. An internationally recognized expert in self-assessments, Chuck is certified to administer and interpret a wide range of assessment tools including the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator ® (MBTI ®). He is a member of the training faculty of the Association for Psychological Type, a Master Practitioner and Trainer for Qualifying.org, a Senior Consultant for Leadership Performance Systems and a member of the University of Washington Consulting Alliance. Chuck was given an Innovations in Training award in 2001 for a five-day, internally-focused leadership development program he developed for college students called the Self-awareness Workshop.
