Daniel C. Robinson is an APT past president, APT Presidents' award winner, member of the APT Faculty Training serves on the Myers-Briggs ® Research Advisory Board for CPP, Inc. He is also a University Professor of Higher Education and Director of Graduate Education in the Department of Educational Leadership/Policy Studies in the College of Education at Iowa State University. Dr. Robinson received his B.S. degree in 1970, M.S. in 1972 and his Ph.D. in 1978 in Higher Education Administration/Counseling Psychology from Iowa State University. He has held a number of positions in the past 28 years at Iowa State University which have included Interim Vice President for Student Affairs, Departmental Executive Officer (Department Chair), Program Coordinator for the M.S./Ph.D. degrees in Higher Education Administration, Assistant Dean College of Education, Director Student Affairs Research Office and Counseling Psychologist in the Student Counseling Service for a period of 14 years. He also serves as a consultant to colleges, universities, business and industry. In addition, he has served as Interest Area Council representative for the APT Multicultural & International Interest Area. He is a prolific author and has published numerous manuscripts on the subject of using psychological type in multicultural and cross cultural settings. He has conduted over 200 presentations and workshops on pyschological type. He is also a frequent presenter at the CAPT Educational, Leadership and Multicultural research conferences, and APT biennial conferences. His most recent publication is a book chapter published in the revised Provost/Anchors book. The chapter titled “Learning Styles in the 21st Century for a Global Community” addresses the learning styles of African American students in Higher education and the implications for all students of color, both in the United States, as well as globally. His primary research focus is on how culture influences the expression of type. His type preferences are ENFP.
