The year 1976: Steve Wozniak creates the first Apple computer, the CN Tower’s construction is finished, and Nadia Comaneci records the first perfect 10 score at the Montréal Summer Olympics. And, across the country in Edmonton, a company is born: Psychometrics Canada is founded by Dr. George Fitzsimmons, a professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Alberta. We are honoured to be celebrating our 40th year of operation; this year celebrates a long tradition of innovation, community, integrity, and service excellence. These company values were implemented by our founder, but are of no less importance to us today. First and foremost, we would like to thank our clients. It is the belief, that great people are at the heart of every successful organization, which unites us with you. You see that people are the most important asset to any organization, and you understand the importance of using objective information to make better talent decisions. Our purpose is to build better organizations through people – using the identification and realization of human potential as a building block to create truly unified and productive organizations – and we thank you for believing in our ability to help you strengthen your organization. We would also like to thank the communities that we are fortunate enough to be a part of – certified MBTI type practitioners, HR professionals, career counselors, and learning and development professionals, to name a few. Since community and collaboration are some of our core values, our participation within these communities is never taken for granted. From all of us here at Psychometrics Canada, we would like to thank you again for helping us have a prosperous first forty years, and here’s to the next forty!
