What qualification do I need to administer the CPI 434?

The CPI 434 is a Level C instrument, which means practitioners must hold a graduate degree in Psychology before accessing and administering the assessment. Contact the Psychometrics Canada team to confirm whether your credential meets this standard.

How long does the CPI 434 take to complete?

The 434-item assessment completes in approximately 45-60 minutes online via Psychometrics.com. Reports are generated immediately upon completion and are available to the administering practitioner.

What is the difference between the three CPI 434 reports?

The CPI 434 produces three reports. The CPI Profile is the main report, delivering insights across all 29 scales. The Narrative Report includes 100 California Q-sort items ranked from most to least descriptive of the individual. The Configural Analysis Report is the most comprehensive report, providing a 16-page empirical and speculative interpretation integrating CPI type, CPI level, and Folk Scales data.

Is the CPI 434 available in French?

Yes. The CPI 434 assessment is available in both French and English. 

How does the CPI 434 differ from the CPI 260?

The CPI 260 uses 260 items deliberately selected from the 434-item California Psychological Inventory for organizational leadership contexts. The CPI 434 contains 174 additional items beyond the 260-item version. These extra items unlock 3 additional scales, the full 100-item California Q-sort ranking, and the 16-page Configural Analysis Report.
