Our History of Innovation

We were founded with a mission to make business psychology accessible and actionable. Over the decades, we have evolved from a provider of printed assessment resources to a digital leader in talent insights.

Founded in 1976

Psychometrics Canada was established at the University of Alberta. An early partnership with Stanford University to develop the French Canadian version of the Strong-Campbell Interest Inventory set the stage for our expanded assessment services across Canada and around the world.

Stanford Partnership

An early partnership with Stanford University brought the Strong-Campbell Interest Inventory to Canada. Psychometrics developed the French Canadian version and expanded services across Canada.

Building a Legacy

In the 1980s we began distributing the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, again developing the French Canadian version and providing Certification Programs throughout the country. Shortly after launching our first online assessment platform in 2001, the company became the exclusive provider of the MBTI®, Strong®, TKI and FIRO® assessments in Canada.  

Developing Proprietary Tools

Recognizing a need for work-specific assessments, we developed our own suite of tools, including the Work Personality Index® and Psychometrics 360.

2025 and Beyond

We continue to modernize the assessment experience, focusing on practical insights through interactive digital dashboards and integrated people analytics.
