In this example the team wasn’t collaborating effectively as one person often struggled to be heard. Their practical, fact-based input was frequently overshadowed by the rest of the group. Reviewing the scores in Team Dynamics, it was easy to visualize that the team was primarily made up of outgoing individuals who thrived on big ideas and future-focused thinking. After sharing these insights and discussing the implications, the group committed to stay grounded, pay closer attention to details, and create space for all team members to contribute more equally. Team Dynamics Activity Case Study You can follow along the steps the facilitator went through below 1. With all team members reviewing the Communication section of Team Dynamics, the facilitator asked the following questions: Which style appears the most within the group? Which style appears the least? Are any styles not represented at all? 2. Next, they dug into the strengths section for each represented communication style. Is the strength something that the group harnesses? Is it something that could be harnessed? 3. Reviewing the challenges for each style highlighted areas that may be a communication issue between team members. 4. The final step was to identify underutilized strengths and challenges that they could start working on to improve performance as a group.
